For Parents

They will always be our child, no matter how old they get - and we will always be parents preparing them to be strong and ready for the world, even as they maintain their childlike smiles reserved for us, and put on a brave face as they look outward towards adulthood.

The "In-Between" Struggle

We understand that the last few years have been unlike any other. For young adults currently aged 19–21, the critical years of junior high and high school were marked by social isolation and a world in flux. You’ve watched helplessly as the "normal" milestones of personal development were interrupted, leaving your child to face a rapidly changing world without the traditional toolkit of life skills. It’s natural to feel a sense of concern—not because they lack potential, but because they lacked the opportunity to practice independence in a stable environment.

Bridge the Gap at Away Adulting Camp, we offer more than just workshops; we offer a soft landing into the realities of adulthood. We recognize that today’s young adults are navigating a landscape of AI, complex financial systems, and a shifting social fabric that looks very different from the one we grew up in. Our mission is to provide the "manual for life" that was missing during those lost years.

Why Trust Us?

  • A Safe Space to Fail and Learn: We provide a supportive, supervised environment where "mistakes" in cooking, budgeting, or communication are simply lessons in a low-stakes setting.

  • Holistic Growth: From mental wellness and self-care to the practicalities of being a good roommate, we cover the nuances of daily life that often go untaught.

  • Building Competence and Confidence: We don’t just tell them what to do; we give them the hands-on experience they need to say, "I’ve got this."

You’ve done the heavy lifting of raising them. Let us help them take that final, confident step into a self-sufficient future.  See Parent FAQ
